I had a peaceful dream about waking around an abandoned neighborhood. The street was banked by huge lush trees and lined with row houses. Like many older neighborhoods of NYC or Boston. The row houses were dilapidated and overtaken by overgrowth of weeds. To the point that it had seem to invaded everything. Yet, there was something peaceful and beautiful about this place, magical like a lush Irish landscape. I entered into the first home that I came to. I could see the architectural molding around the front window and exposed lattes despite all of the covering of green vines. The front door was removed and I entered into the home and looked to the left room. This room was a small classroom with old dark walnut school desk and chairs, cream painted walls covered in green overgrowth. To the front of the room was a full bay window with golden dusk light pouring in the room. There were a number of oak antique dining “moderately ornate” chairs gathered near this window. One of the chairs was more like a barstool. Higher than the others. The seat cushion was made of cream-champaign velvet. Partially covered in these vines and dried dirt. I wanted to move into this place and fix it up. I had a strong desire to keep the chairs and was wondering whom they belonged to. A number of “spirits” came down the stairs from the hallway. One was a former male interior designer and was happy that I “loved” the place. They all talked to each other constantly and said that I should take the chairs. I thought about how I should clean the velvet. This one chair felt like it was meant for me to find and keep.
